artWorks Gallery is JMU's student-run gallery within the School of Art, Design, and Art History, exhibiting work by undergraduate and graduate students.
The gallery features moveable walls, hardwood floors, large windows, and a high, open ceiling with exhibits changing every three weeks. Being solely run by students provides us with opportunities to gain experience running a gallery, showing work in a professional setting, and networking with the Harrisonburg arts community.

Projected Encounters: Student Works from Experiential & Spatial Design
October 2–17, 2026
Immersive spatial installations developed by students in the Experiential & Spatial Design course (Spring 26). The works explore space itself as an experience, integrating projection, motion, and spatial composition to shape how visitors perceive and move through the gallery. The works bring together image, light, and architecture to create integrated spatial environments.
