Sedrick Miles received his Ph.D. in Latin American Studies from Tulane University, with specializations in African Diaspora Studies and Digital Humanities. He holds an M.A. in Research Psychology from The New School and a B.A. in Educational Psychology from Morehouse College. His teaching interests include global archival movements, visual studies, Brazilian cultural studies, and decolonial pedagogy.

Dr. Miles’s research focuses on Black Atlantic art and archives, examining working-class Afro-Brazilian communities in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil. A multidisciplinary artist specializing in photography and participatory public art, his work bridges creative practice with community-engaged scholarship. He is the founder and director of Atlantic Archives Global Education, an international organization delivering community-engaged scholarship across Brazil, the United States, and Ghana. A Fulbright Scholar and Boren Fellow, he is also founder and editor of From Below, a multilingual journal centering working-class diasporic voices.
