When will I hear if my exception request has been approved?

ORL will begin communicating with student via email on Thursday morning and continue to do so on a rolling basis. Please monitor your @dukes email.

Can I move out all of my belongings this weekend?

You do not need to move out all of your belongings, but you may do so if you wish.

Will Dining still be available for students who are approved to stay?

Yes. Hours and locations may be modified.

Can I leave belongings in my room?

Yes, but make sure you have all of your books and other items for a month of online learning at home.

Do I need to unplug everything?

No.

Do I need to turn in my key?

No.

Do I need to turn in my JACard?

No. 

Will I be able to access my residence hall whenever I want in September?

No. Card access will be turned off for students who are not approved to stay.

Can my parents/family help me bring stuff to my car?

Yes. Everybody must wear a mask and please make as few trips as possible.

When do I come back?

University officials will be in touch with the campus community by Sept. 25 regarding the possibility of returning to in-person instruction on or after October 5. Details regarding the residence halls will be included in that communication.
