Colleges and universities are required to develop a Cost of Attendance (COA) as part of the process for determining a student's financial aid eligibility. The figures provided in a Cost of Attendance (COA) are used solely for the purposes of determining financial aid eligibility and to give an estimate of the costs associated with attending a university. The COA is NOT a reflection of a student’s bill.

The Cost of Attendance (COA) is designed to show students an approximation of the Direct and Indirect Costs associated with attending JMU in a particular school year. Direct Costs are those generally paid to JMU, while Indirect Costs are expenses not associated with the JMU bill.

Students can review their direct JMU charges by going to Madison Money Manager (M3).
