Dr. Toya Mary Okonkwo is a faculty fellow and instructor of first-year writing whose teaching centers the radical imagination, language justice, and public scholarship. She works closely with the Toni Morrison Society and is a contributing editor for The Black Language Syllabus. A well-wisher of humanity, she values creative methodologies and treats research and writing as practices of collective possibility. Her pedagogy emphasizes multimodal composing, rhetorical agency, and equipping students to intervene in real-world discourse in imaginative and radical ways that get at the root of integrating positive change.
