Why Assessment at JMU?
Founded in 1988, the Center for Assessment and Research Studies (CARS) is national leader in assessment. CARS’s success is in part due to its symbiotic relationship with the Assessment and Measurement doctoral program. This close connection means that JMU’s assessment is supported by both faculty and students in the program. And, because of the academic nature of the program much scholarship has been produced related to the field of assessment. CARS has won over a dozen national awards in assessment and is proud to offer resources and professional development to our community.
