After planning your email and creating your email name, you can now prepare and/or request your audience data.

All emails sent from the Advancement Business Unit in Marketing Cloud, must be associated with a campaign in Affinaquest. The campaign is where your audience is loaded. For a constituent to receive an email from this business unit, they must exist in our CRM.

Philanthropy & Engagement:

Units in Philanthropy & Engagement will use Affinaquest directly to create the campaign for their email. Please refer to the training information provided by Advancement Business Applications for instructions.

Campus Partners:

Campus partners using the Advancement business unit to email external audiences will request that an Affinaquest campaign be created for their email.

HOW TO: Request Data

  1. Request a report from the ABA Reporting Team by filling out this form. An audience list will be prepared and emailed to you.
  2. Applying any additional filtering to your audience list.
  3. Submit your filtered audience list to Business Applications at uaqa@jmu.edu, who will load your campaign.

While your audience data is being prepared, you can get started writing and preparing your email copy (e.g., content, links, subject lines, and preheaders), and building your message in Marketing Cloud using the email name you created.
