Voice Mail

Activating Your VoiceMail

VoiceMail gives you step-by-step recorded instructions every time you dial into the system. Once you are comfortable using VoiceMail, you can proceed without listening to all the instructions each time. If you ever have any questions or problems with your VoiceMail, you can call the JMU Telecom Office at 568.6471 for assistance.

PLEASE NOTE: Check and clear your messages regularly. In order to continue collecting messages, your VoiceMail will automatically delete unplayed messages after 2 weeks, and played messages will be deleted after 1 week.

OPTION 1 - FWD (FORWARD ALL CALLS)
Phone will not ring. Calls go immediately to VoiceMail.

FROM A SINGLE LINE PHONE:
Lift handset. Dial star image number 7 key then 84411. Hang up.
Calls will go straight into VoiceMail.
TO CANCEL: Lift handset. Dial pound sign key number 7 key. Hang up.

FROM A DTERM PHONE:
Press SPEAKER, then FWD, then dial 84411 (to go to Voice Mail), OR dial 5-digit extension (to go to another phone), then SPEAKER.

TO CANCEL: Press SPEAKER, then FWD, then SPEAKER.



OPTION 2 - FWD NA (FORWARD NO ANSWER)
Calls will go to Voice Mail after 3-5 rings.

FROM A SINGLE LINE PHONE:
Lift handset. Dial star image key number 8 key then 84411. Hang up.
TO CANCEL: Lift handset. Dial pund sign key  number 8 key. Hang up.

FROM A DTERM PHONE:
Press SPEAKER, then FWD NA, then dial 84411 (to go to Voice Mail), OR, dial 5-digit extension (to go to another phone), then SPEAKER.

TO CANCEL: Press SPEAKER, then FWD NA, then SPEAKER.



OPTION 3 - FWD BY (FORWARD BUSY)
If your extension is busy, calls go immediately to Voice Mail.

FROM A SINGLE LINE PHONE:
Lift handset. Dial  star image key number 4 key then 84411. Hang up.
TO CANCEL: Lift handset. Dial pound key small 4 key. Hang up.

FROM A DTERM PHONE:
Press SPEAKER, then FWD BY, then dial 84411 (to go to Voice Mail), OR dial 5-digit extension (to go to another phone), then SPEAKER.

TO CANCEL: Press SPEAKER, then FWD BY, then SPEAKER.
