Telephone services to on-campus students and residents are provided by JMU Telecommunications.
On-campus students and residents are provided with residence hall courtesy phones in hallways. Courtesy phones and emergency phones are also provided across campus.
On-campus students and residents may place on-campus, local area and toll free calls from hallway courtesy phones at no charge.

On-Campus Student PIN Information
A Personal Identification Number (PIN) is required for long distance calling. Students may place long distance calls with a Telecom PIN using hallway courtesy phones or residence hall room phones.

The long distance rate is 8¢ per minute anytime, anywhere in the USA. International, directory assistance and operator assisted calls are billed at higher rates.
On-Campus Student Telephone Requests
On-campus students or residents may request an individual residence hall room phone. Please submit a Student Telephone Installation Form. JMU Telecommunications will call to set up an appointment time with the student or resident to install the telephone and service.
Telecommunications Monthly Billing
JMU University Business Office will provide monthly billing. Telecom charges will appear on the student’s consolidated monthly bill and will be billed electronically to your JMU e-mail address via QuickBILL.
