JMU SharePoint Services

JMU Information Technology offers JMU SharePoint Services, which includes Microsoft Lync, Microsoft Office, SharePoint team sites, and OneDrive for Business. With all of these components, JMU SharePoint Services provides departmental and campus-wide intranet while enabling collaboration for improved productivity and communication for JMU students, faculty, and staff.

JMU SharePoint Services

JMU SharePoint Services is built on SharePoint 2013 server on premise and Microsoft Office 365 SharePoint Online. This service provides a range of collaboration tools for projects and committees as well as department and college intranets.  This includes: secure, centralized document management and sharing, newsfeeds to help you stay tuned into the activities of your colleagues, and more!

Faculty and staff at JMU can request a team or project SharePoint site online.  JMU SharePoint Services also provides consulting services to assist with site design, business process integration to SharePoint, implementation guidance and best practices.

OneDrive for Business

JMU 'OneDrive for Business' (https://jmuedu.sharepoint.com) is available to faculty and staff with 1 TB of storage.  
Dukes 'OneDrive for Business' (https://dukes.sharepoint.com) is available to students with 25 GB of storage.  

OneDrive for Business is a personal library intended for storing and organizing your work and personal documents.  As an integral part JMU SharePoint Services, OneDrive for Business lets you access your most important documents from your desktop or from any device, anywhere.

Most Microsoft Office file types can be viewed and edited online in a web browser using the Office Web Apps in SharePoint.  OneDrive for Business allows online collaboration and editing at the same time as others across PCs, Macs, and the web.
