2. Download JMU's VPN Client
VPN Client
The Cisco VPN Client is required to connect to the JMU Off-Campus Remote Access. The VPN client establishes a secure connection using your JMU e-ID and password for authentication.

Problems with VPN running under Leopard?
1. Make sure Leopard is updated to 10.5.1 (Update by clicking on the Apple, About this Mac, Software Update).
2. Reinstall the VPN client from the Computer Downloads Page.

Accessing Network Drives
- Remote Microsoft XP users can use CIFS to access network drives (ex. N:, L:).
- Windows XP Professional -
- Users of Mac OS X 10.4 and above can use Native File Access for their network drives.
Troubleshooting Problems
The HelpDesk will provide over the phone installation and troubleshooting for non-JMU owned computers only. If this does not resolve the problem the HelpDesk will refer the caller to a local vendor.
If the equipment is owned by JMU and cannot be fixed over the phone it can be brought into the HelpDesk and Desktop Services will configure and troubleshoot the computer for you.
