Hi! My name is Michaela Messick and I am the JMU VALOR program assistant. I am a Junior Social Work student with a minor in Family ecology. I am the Social Chair of the Student Veterans Association. I was born in Japan to two marine parents and was raised in Virginia Beach. I am the youngest of three with two older brothers. I have a German Shepherd and an American Short Hair Cat. A few fun facts about me is: My favorite color is green, I love living in the mountains, and being in the great outdoors. As the VALOR Program Assistant, I play a role in the daily office life, social media management, and overall engagement of VALOR. I love the community that I have built at JMU and look forward to meeting all those who enter VALOR!
