Assistant Professor Theatre: Sound Design

Simon designs and engineers sound for theatrical and musical productions. In the past, he has composed for jazz ensemble, choirs, vocal quartet, and piano. Simon uses as much locally recorded and natural sound as possible in sound designs and is interested in the possibilities of immersive sound and complex systems. Primary areas of research include ambisonic audio, audio and lighting automation, generative and random music, science communication, and theatre accessibility.
