Next Steps - Summer Programs

School of Theatre and Dance
James Madison University

Next Steps Summer Programs offer students an exciting opportunity for students to experience JMU ARTS at their best!  Participants in both the Dance and Musical Theater programs will not only study with JMU faculty from the School of Theatre and Dance, but will also get to work with and alongside industry leaders like DanceWorks Chicago (Dance) and Musical Theater guest artists. These exciting connections highlight JMU STAD’s commitment to engaging guest artists of the highest caliber, while also offering students the chance to learn from and engage with some of JMU ARTS’ nationally-renowned faculty.

While on campus, Next Steps participants will work and train in the stunning Forbes Center for the Performing Arts which features an array of dance studios and rehearsal rooms, as well as multiple performance venues! Additionally, students may choose to stay in our campus dorms during their chosen program.  Students who stay in the dorms, will eat at JMU’s award-winning dining halls.  All of these experiences combined, will allow Next Steps Participants to get the full JMU ARTS experience!

Join us from June 27th to July 2nd to learn why JMU ARTS students are known nationally for their ability to CREATE THEIR OWN PATH!
