Shir is a graduate assistant working for the Challace McMillin Center for Sport Psychology. She is currently a graduate student at James Madison University's Combined-Integrated Doctoral Program in Clinical and School Psychology. Shir received a Master of Arts in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Minnesota State University in May 2020. While at MNSU, Shir served as a graduate-level mental performance consultant to student-athletes at Minnesota State University, Gustavus College, and high-school teams in the surrounding areas. As a mental performance consultant, she delivered workshops and individual sessions teaching mental skills training. Her research interests include performance enhancement in sport, coaches' behaviors and athletes' motivation and well-being, and female student-athletes eating concerns and body image.
