Admission Requirements

Current resume or CV

Personal Statement - should be in 50% Spanish and 50% English - explaining why you are pursuing a Master of Education with a concentration in Spanish Language and Culture for Educators.

Two letters of recommendation

Video - ¿Porqué quiere obtener esta maestría? (no more than 2 minutes) This is optional.

Also required by the program

An officially accredited report of *B2 Spanish level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL) or Spanish as a native language or a Bachelor's degree in Spanish.

*If you have another test that shows a B2 Spanish level, please contact the program director, Diana Meza, to make sure it is valid. Some accredited tests are DELE, CELU, BULATS, and SIELE.

Prospective students must submit their applications online. Students who need a paper format due to a disability should contact the JMU’s Office of Disability Services to determine their eligibility for accommodations in the application process.

International applicants are required to submit additional materials.

Deadline

The application deadline is March 15.
