Dr. Jonathan Miles serves as Executive Director of the Center for the Advancement of Sustainable Energy (CASE) at James Madison University. He is a Professor of Integrated Science and Technology in the School of Integrated Sciences. Dr. Miles was one of the founders of JMU's innovative partnership with the University of Malta, which has resulted in an accelerated, dual-degree, graduate program.

Holding a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a B.S. in Physics from Clark University, Jonathan teaches a variety of courses in applied sciences, energy and engineering. As an adviser to JMU's Collegiate Wind Competition team, students learn from his research and industry-based expertise, including his work as a Research Fellow at NASA Langley Research Center (1997) and his service as an energy specialist for the U.S. Department of Energy (2007-09). At CASE, Dr. Miles continues his inquiry by serving as the principal investigator on several agency-funded grants.
