Institutional Data Analysis

This sub-group worked with campus partners to generate an institutional data set of all students over the last five years at JMU to analyize, identify trends, and reflect on equitable student success and retention at JMU. Two initial reports have been drafted. Please keep in mind that these are drafts and only intended for internal evaluation purposes for the QEP. Literature Review

This sub-group worked to analyze existing literature and scholarship related to the QEP. For example, major topics and themes were equitable student success & retention, data analytics, learning analytics, early alert systems, data privacy, data governance, and more. The group generated the following drafts. Please keep in mind that this work was generated for a specific purpose of use within the QEP. Focus Groups

The focus group sub-group coordinated and conducted focus groups with students, faculty, and staff at JMU over the 2021-2022 academic year. The focus groups were facilitated by members of the QEP working group using an IRB-approved facilitation protocol. The focus group protocol focused on themes of student success & retention, equity, early alert systems, and data privacy. The following report was drafted after analyzing the focus groups. Please keep in mind that these focus groups and the drafted report is for specific use within the context of the QEP. Please reach out with any questions, concerns, feedback, or other ideas.
