Research Description

My primary scholarly interest is understanding the fraction content knowledge of prospective PreK-8 teachers within the framework of fraction schemes and operations (Steffe & Olive, 2010). In particular, I am interested in understanding how prospective PreK-8 teachers develop fraction content knowledge and how to best support that development. My primary teaching responsibility is mathematics content courses for prospective PreK-8 teachers, so my research is both informed by and informs my teaching.
