Join the Association for Women in Mathematics

The JMU Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) Student Chapter was established in 2011. Members of the chapter have regular social meetings once a month, where they often invite a female mathematician or female scientist in the community to give a talk. They also participate in various activities such as organizing and running a workshop at MadiSTEM and providing volunteer tutoring for local middle and high school students. Most importantly, the JMU AWM Student Chapter provides a strong support system to members in both academics and future careers.
