Madison Trust unleashes innovation at JMU while making an impact on the greater community.

Projects conceived and implemented by our faculty and staff members demonstrate how we’re Being the Change. These endeavors tackle today’s toughest problems—and through partnership with private donor-investors, tomorrow’s solutions take shape.

Madison Trust is an initiative of University Advancement managed by the office of Corporate & Foundation Relations in collaboration with colleagues and campus partners from across JMU.

ANNOUNCEMENT | 2022 Madison Trust Funding Event

JMU faculty and staff members:

Register now for an upcoming one-hour information session on Zoom.

OR

When you attend, you’ll find out more about

  • how and when to submit your proposal,
  • preparing for this event, including tailoring a presentation for this audience, as well as
  • previous faculty and staff projects and programs successfully funded through Madison Trust.

Madison Trust is an opportunity to present your expertise, research, or innovative idea to dozens of donor-investors who are primed to hear your proposal and respond positively. Think of a certain TV show but without “sharks. Instead, you’ll be with JMU alumni and friends who believe in and are ready to invest in fellow Dukes. These attendees pledge significant support in advance.

Since it began in 2014, Madison Trust has provided $835,275 to 67 worthy projects.

Those who are selected to present reap the triple benefit of

  1. the chance to fund their work through Madison Trust,
  2. the guidance to position their innovation so they can seek other gifts or grants if needed, and
  3. introductions to colleagues at JMU who can help them find and pursue still more funding opportunities.

Our submission portal is currently closed. We will begin accepting proposals for our 2022 Madison Trust funding event in September 2021. See the announcement above to register for a faculty-staff information session.
