Who Can Use the Equipment?

Any JMU student, faculty, or staff may use the equipment for any class or research project. 

The Makery, located on the first floor of Rose Library, has 3D printers, laser and vinyl cutters, an electronics workbench, and other tools and supplies available free-of-charge for class, research, and personal projects. No appointment is necessary. Visit during The Makery’s hours of operation to get started.

By appointment only. Open Lab will return once the Fall 2024 semester is underway.

If you're using this equipment for the first time, we are here to help! Our team will provide 30 minutes of machine and safety training at the start of your first appointment.

Note: Please reserve more than 1-hour to ensure you have enough time to receive the required safety training and begin to work on your project.
