JMU X-Labs students work to create innovative projects that respond to grand challenges and wicked problems in our courses. The Innovation Summit offers students a valuable opportunity to showcase their innovative ideas, expand their professional network, and receive constructive feedback to advance both their projects and future careers.

The 2024 Innovation Summit will be held on Tuesday, April 30th, 2024, at Lakeview Hall, James Madison University, from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
This summit shines a spotlight on the vision and programming of our new team, our 2023-24 Innovation and Impact Fellows, our latest industry partnerships, and the hard work and research of the students and faculty that participated in X-Labs classes this year. We have a lot to share!
During the event, attendees can tour our newly upgraded Esports Arena, which is designed to provide students with a state-of-the-art gaming experience. The event will feature an unveiling of the new Living Wall, an interactive public space that displays X-Labs' history, our present, and our future, designed by this year’s Innovation and Impact Fellows.
After President Alger and Provost Coltman deliver their opening remarks, our keynote speaker Mike Wulff, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Ellucian, will share his wisdom and experience from starting as an intern with Ellucian to becoming CTO! X-Labs student teams will then showcase their solutions to the complex challenges they worked on throughout this year, followed by this year's Esports Awards.
