Inaugural Faculty Associates Program

In February 2025 we opened applications for our inaugural Faculty Associates for Cross-Disciplinary Pedagogy program, designed and directed by Jamie Calcagno-Roach, Director of Faculty Development in JMU X-Labs. Six faculty members were selected from a competitive application process to spend two years with JMU X-Labs to learn design thinking pedagogy, cross-disciplinary team teaching, and how to tackle real-world problems in the classroom. The program kicked off in Summer 2025 with faculty associates and the JMU X-Labs team attending the Teaching and Learning Studio of the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design (d.school) at Stanford University.
