Cari Orebaugh oversees project management, develops industry partner programs, designs and facilitates workshops, implements the JMU X-Labs communications and marketing strategy, and manages the student fellowship program. With over 15 years of experience in public administration, economic development, and nonprofit management, Cari has cultivated a career focused on building community. Cari’s marketing and communication experience with the Shenandoah Valley Partnership and Harrisonburg-Rockingham Chamber of Commerce and private-sector experience at Molson Coors Beverage Company serves JMU X-Labs well, in addition to her deep commitment and passion for our mission and partners.

Born and raised in Rockingham County, JMU has significantly influenced Cari's life. During her formative years, she participated in gymnastics camps, performed as a Junior Cheerleader, and volunteered on the sidelines for the JMU Women’s Basketball Team. Cari is honored to support JMU’s mission through her role at JMU X-Labs.

Cari has been recognized as a "Top 10 Under 40" Business Leader by the Shenandoah Valley Business Journal and is a recipient of the Dennis Burnett Community Excellence Award. She serves on the Board of Directors for Your Economic Success and is an active member of the Broadway Lions Club.
