Year & Major
Hi, my name is Logan McIntire, and I am a Junior Finance and Accounting major. My prior experience with being enrolled in X-Labs courses (Reimagining Virginia's Fight Against Organized Retail Crime and AI for Global Impact) brought me to this fellowship. This will be my first-year as a X-Labs fellow.
What inspires your creativity?
My creativity is set in motion when I am deeply invested in what I am working on, so I can make it the best it can possibly be.
What does innovation mean to you in one sentence?
Innovation to me is developing a more efficient way to complete a task, while making it your own.
What problem in the world would you most love to solve?
A problem in the world that I would most like to solve is providing freshly grown produce to all corners of the world, which was the focus of my project in AI for Global Impact.
What challenge motivates you to keep learning?
To keep myself learning, I seek out new information that pertains to history, business, and law. Sometimes though, it is not always easy to find the points where they intersect, which requires further research and seeking out individuals who are knowledgeable on the topic.
What are you most curious to explore at JMU X-Labs this year? Any specific skills or experiences you’re excited to gain?
This year, I am interested in exploring how we can grow X-Labs' presence across campus through various courses and partnerships. I am looking forward to cross-discipline collaboration amongst the other fellows, as we each bring something different to the fellowship.
Share something unique or unexpected about yourself!
I have sailed across Loch Ness in Scotland, however I did not see the Loch Ness Monster.
