Silvia D’Amato received her Ph.D. in political science from the Scuola Normale Superiore in Florence in July 2017. Her dissertation concerned post 9/11 counterterrorism strategy formulation of France and Italy. During her Ph.D. studies, D’Amato served as a visiting fellow at the University of Amsterdam (UvA) and at the Fondation Pour la Recherche Stratégique (FRS) in Paris; in addition, she served as a teaching assistant at the University of Bologna. Prior to her Ph.D., D’Amato received her M.A. in International and Diplomatic Science from the University of Bologna (Forli Campus) and her B.A. in International Studies from the University of Florence. Her research interests include international politics, European security and politics, and comparative counterterrorism strategies.
