Forensic Science? Is it as Hollywood Portrays it?
Have you heard of the TV shows Quantico, CSI, or NCIS? Have you ever watched them and wondered if forensic science is how those shows portray it? For Hollywood, forensic science is a glamourous way of using science to get justice for crimes in 40 minutes. However, forensic science is using scientific methods to investigate crimes that may be prosecuted in court months or years later. This presentation will explain more differences in forensic science in Hollywood and the real world through the following topics: the educational journey to become a forensic scientist, the duties of a forensic scientist, and some Hollywood-like real world cases.
