Department Level Positions
Our Department of Biology invites applications for a 10-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology with expertise in Discipline-Based Education Research (DBER). The successful candidate for this position is expected to develop a productive, externally-funded research program in post-secondary biology education or science education that engages students. This is a full-time appointment beginning August, 2024.
Our Department of Biology is accepting applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with specific expertise in Plant Biotechnology. This is a full-time position with an anticipated start date of August 2024. A Ph.D. is required in the biological sciences with training in a field related to Plant Biotechnology, such as Agricultural Technology, Plant Pathology and Physiology, Horticulture, etc. Post-doctoral experience is preferred.
Our Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry invites applications for three tenure-track positions to begin in Fall 2024. At least one position is in nuclear chemistry or nuclear-adjacent areas; the other positions are open. Priority will be given to candidates who fill department needs in environmental, inorganic, and nuclear chemistry. This cohort hire will build on our history of undergraduate research training and leverage $10 million of existing instrumentation, including nuclear facilities. Successful candidates will work with existing faculty to expand our nuclear chemistry curriculum.
This tenure track position will contribute to the existing core curriculum in the areas of structural geology, geology field course, introductory geology, and/or other courses in the applicant’s area of expertise. The successful candidate will contribute to the growth of our Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees and related minors such as Climate Science, Environmental Science, Data Science, and Geophysics.
Our Department of Mathematics & Statistics invites applications for a tenure-track position in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, data science, or a closely related field at the assistant professor level to begin in August 2024. While the primary appointment will be in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics, the successful candidate will also join the interdisciplinary Environmental Data Science cohort that crosses two colleges.
