In the center-based program they will work on skills, participate in leisure activities such as computers/IPads, and work on skill builders (functional and independent skills). They will also assist staff in helping with snacks and lunches. Those that go out in the community will assist staff in mobility issues and support clients with their volunteer tasks and spending time in various community settings.
Because the majority of our individuals spend time in the community, we are looking for some of the students from your program to be able to commit to 3-5 hours so they can go out with our community engagement teams. There are only about 5-10 clients that remain in the center and even though we welcome students who can only give a couple hours of their time to volunteer for our center program, we will indeed hope to bring on service learners that can spend a great deal of their time with our community teams where the need for support is the greatest.

Would be great if students could come for a whole day each week, because then they are able to get out in the community with the program. If not, there are other times available that are shorter.
