Misty Newman is Associate Director for Global Community Engagment and is responsible for service-learning initiatives that happen beyond the Harrisonburg/Rockingham community. Currently, this is available most frequently by participation with the Alternative Break Program (link to: www.jmu.edu/abp). She also works with the outreach team to ensure that our campus and community partners stay abreast of events, opportunities, and educational materials to further connect them to CSL and its values via print, web, and social media (https://www.facebook.com/Alternative-Break-Programs-JMU-162976169634/).

Bio:
Misty earned her B.S. in Business Administration and Public Relations from Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio and M.Ed. in College Student Personnel Administration here at James Madison University. She has worked in a few offices on campus, and enjoys staying connected as a Civic Learning Mentor (https://www.jmu.edu/osarp/about/opportunities/mentor.shtml), Advisor for Sigma Alpha Omega (https://beinvolved.jmu.edu/organization/sigmaalphaomega), and as a member of the Steering Committee for the Madison Caucus for Gender Equality (http://www.jmu.edu/caucusgenderequality/). Outside of work, Misty enjoys serving the community, singing, live music, Latin dancing, and fun runs that end at a local vineyard or cidery.
