James Madison University's Accounting program ranked No. 18 in the Wall Street Journal's Top Public Colleges for Accounting Salaries list. 

  • Accounting students annually support the Voluntary Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. They assisted over 500 low-income taxpayers in Spring 2023. 
  • Associate Professor, James Irving, was recognized as the Distinguished Teacher at the 2023 Provost Awards.
  • Professor, Paul Copley, was named as the new Journal of Accounting Education Professor in the School of Accounting.
  • Each fall, the Meet the Firms event offers ACTG, FIN and CIS majors a unique opportunity to network with firms in a career fair format.  
  • All of the accounting faculty hold professional certifications, either as Certified Public Accountants or Certified Management Accountants.
