Why did you become an ambassador? I chose to become an ambassador because, when I first entered the program, the events the ambassadors held helped me meet a lot of new people. I got to know peers from various grade levels, and I felt like part of the JMU community. I wanted to give other incoming students the same positive experience I had when I entered the program as a freshman.

What do you enjoy most about Engineering? I love that JMU’s program is very hands-on. A lot of the engineering courses will have a lecture and lab, so you really get to put into practice what you learn in class. There are many opportunities to learn new skills and grow through hands-on projects in labs and design courses.

Have you had an internship, study abroad, or research experience you'd like to share? I have completed two internships since being at JMU. After my sophomore year, I interned as a water/wastewater intern, and after junior year, I interned as a roadway analyst. Both experiences were amazing, and I learned a lot of new skills! Through interning, I was able to line up a job for after graduation going into my senior year.

What is something you love to do outside of class? I love to run, bake, and read!

What advice would you give to a prospective student? Get out of their comfort zones, meet new people, and try new things.
