Minor: Robotics

Why did you become an ambassador? Because I love JMU engineering and what it stands for. I want to connect not only with people in this department but also with incoming students and students in the surrounding area.

Why did you choose your major? I wanted to help people as much as I can. I love working with my hands and doing home projects.

What do you enjoy most about engineering? I enjoy the smallness of our program the most - I believe the people I have met in this department have helped me succeed in my classes and made this program what it is.

What is your favorite class or project? Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer. Solving these problems was extremely fun and exciting!

Who has been an influential professor, mentor, or advisor for you at JMU? Dr. Castaneda has been one of the most influential professors to me here at JMU. He is great at answering questions and breaking them down into easily digestible answers. He is great for getting advice about your curriculum, classes, and general questions!

Have you had an internship, study abroad, or research experience you'd like to share? I have had a really great research experience with Dr. Puente so far. I love doing research with him because I feel like I am learning at a higher level, and I don't have to know the right answer all the time!

What clubs, student organizations, or activities are you involved in? WXJM, the student radio at JMU.

What is something you love to do outside of class? I love to knit.

What is your favorite spot on campus? 2nd floor Engeo when the sun is setting.

If you had to describe your JMU experience in three words, what would they be? Growth, discovery, connection.

What advice would you give to a prospective student? It is never too late to start learning anything; college is what you make it. Every experience you have is worthwhile in the end.
