Class of 2027
Major: Engineering
Minor: Art, Math and French
Abigail chose engineering as a combination of her passion for art, math, and science. She loves design and physically manufacturing projects. "I discovered my passion for mathematics and physics in high school. I enjoy the process and satisfaction of converting an idea into a finished project."
Abigail is also involved in SWE, Math Connections Theater, and Francophone Club. She is an SLI in STEM Corps and Vice President of Madison Welders. She also attends TAK(religion honors society) meetings.
In her free time, she enjoys baking, gardening, and spending time outside in the sun.
Why did you become an ambassador?
I became an ambassador after experiencing the positive effect they have on students. It is a wonderful community and EA's are a great resource to others in the major. I am excited to be a part of passing down that experience to new students in the program.
What do you enjoy most about the program?
I enjoy the community that we have in this program. I have met so many peers and faculty who have made my experience at JMU special.
Have you had an internship, study abroad or research experience?
My first internship was in the summer of 2025 at TMEIC, a joint Toshiba and Mitsubishi Electric company. I worked with cooling systems of large drives.
Favorite class or project
My favorite class so far has been Statics and Mechanics.
