Why did you become an ambassador? I wanted to give back to the engineering department. It's done so much for me!

Why did you choose Engineering? I love creating and designing things. Engineering was always the clear path because it let me expand my creative abilities.

What do you enjoy most about your program? The variety. I like having a background in multiple engineering disciplines; it makes me a better all-around engineer!

What is your favorite class or project? My favorite project is a personal research project on how adding a centralized flywheel to a quadcopter drone would affect disturbance rejection.

Who has been an influential professor, mentor, or advisor? Dr. Debra Warne, with the JMU math department. I've taken three of her classes, and still work with her on many things today. I've gone to her with questions, concerns, and ideas, and she's responded in the way I needed to each.

Have you had an internship, study abroad, or research experience you'd like to share? I'm currently part of the JMU Aeroacoustics lab, researching ways to model shock-associated noise for Coanda flow. I also have personal research experience.

What clubs, student organizations, or activities are you involved in at JMU? I'm the president of Madison Welders, I'm part of a group called Math Connections Theatre, and I participate in our school's ASME and SWE chapters!

What is something you love to do outside of class? I skateboard to and from school. It's so relaxing!

What is your favorite spot on campus? Next to Bridgefourth Stadium and Newmann Lake, there's a little spot with a bunch of willow trees.

What advice would you give to a prospective student? Stay on top of everything! I know you can do it all; just don't stumble and fall behind.
