Chaz Weaver is a graduate of Virginia Tech (BS, Civil Engineering) and Old Dominion University (Master’s, Engineering Management). He has 27 years of experience with VDOT, including 20 as District Materials Engineer in Staunton, responsible for materials quality assurance, pavement design, and geotechnical engineering. Chaz is responsible for these areas for projects totaling over $2 billion. He has received two Commissioner’s Awards and multiple awards for the Interstate 81 Pavement Recycling Project.
Chaz is an active member of ASCE, having served on the national Committee on Leadership and Management and on the Virginia Section Board of Directors. He was honored as ASCE Fellow in 2017 and is currently a practitioner advisor for both JMU and Miller School of Albemarle.
He has served on three TRB standing committees and three VDOT research advisory committees.
Chaz has both a Professional Engineer license (VA) and is a Certified Professional Engineering Manager (ASEM)
