Katie joined the Arboretum team in 2021 as the Education Coordinator overseeing educational programming and leading field trips for over 3,000 students each year. A certified environmental educator through the Virginia Association for Environmental Education (VAEE), Katie is especially proud of the new offerings in watershed education, which reached over 1,300 local school children this last school year.

In May 2025, Katie stepped up as the Director of the Arboretum. A move made possible through her incredible work ethic, tangible passion for environmental education, and advocacy for all things relating to the Arboretum.
