Zada is a junior videographer at SACM. She transferred to JMU from Rappahannock Community College and, upon graduation, will have double degrees from the School of Media Arts and Design (SMAD) and the School of Theatre and Dance. Zada’s SMAD concentration is Digital Video and Cinema. This is her second year at SACM and, as a returning student, she helps newer students to film, coordinate filming and edit video content. Her dance career began at the age of three and she has been dancing for 19 years. At JMU, Zada participates in Dance Theater, a community service focused dance group, doing drives. Zada’s interest in videography began with a personal YouTube channel where she would create eclectic content with her family. Community is a strong value in Zada’s life, so she enjoys hosting art parties and paint nights with her high school sweetheart and fiancé, for friends. Zada has integrated her videography with her dance and pairs video projections with choreographed pieces in her work. Humanism and social justice are strong values and guiding aspects of Zada’s creativity. She experiments with movement to explore soul-body congruence and enjoys mixed-media art outside of school. In her free time, Zada enjoys playing her Nintendo Switch, taking walks and spending time with her cats.
