Meet Angela, the Director of Communications and Marketing for Student Affairs.  

Angela is the Director of Student Affairs Communications and Marketing (SACM). She helped found SACM in 2021, in collaboration with other marketers from the University Health Center and Student Life. As the Director of SACM, Angela does high-level strategy for the division. One of her main goals is leading the team to find ways to better serve and inform JMU’s students about current and upcoming events so they can feel engaged and make fulfilling memories. As the Director of SACM, she finds her relationships with colleagues and students meaningful and draws on her open-mindedness and warmth to ensure that everyone she encounters feels valued.   

Angela loves knowing that SACM has a positive and wide-reaching impact on student experiences at JMU. She also credits the lasting connections she has made at JMU for loving her work. Angela first began working at JMU with Aramark in 2001 and moved to work with the University Health Center in 2017. She is a proud alumnus and was a member of the Marching Royal Dukes, where she performed with both rifle and flag while in school. Outside of SACM, Angela is a loving mother, wife, cat-parent and pet-grandmother to two dogs and two cats. She played the piano growing up and loves attending concerts (Billie Joel and Elton John together is her favorite so far.) When she has time, she enjoys puzzles, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
