As the Programs Assistant, Melissa Gaines manages the daily operations of X-Labs and assists the Programs and Initiatives Manager. In addition, she provides support to the Executive Director, Interim Assistant Director, the Operations Manager and Esports Director. She collaborates with the Research and Scholarship department and members of the JMU community.

Prior to working for X-Labs, Melissa was the Programs Assistant for Student Awards, Initiatives, and Research (STAIR). She assisted the Director and Assistant Director of STAIR, and the Interim Coordinator of Student Creative Activities and Research with various projects and events.
