Basic of Improvisation with Dr. Annie Savage

Have you always wanted to play in a band? This is your chance to learn and show off the skills that it takes to do just this! We will start by learning a couple catchy tunes by ear and then give you some tips for improvising riffs, harmonies, and variations. All with a band on hand to help you do this. Violins and violas? You get to work with Dr. Savage—a fiddle player who is also the head of string education at JMU! Bass and cello players? Come on in! We have a great bass player on hand to format a bass line! Come play with our band and learn to BE in a band at the same time!
