Emma Corrao is currently the Music Library Evening & Weekend Services Coordinator at James Madison University. In this role, she supports Music Library patrons throughout the week, and occasionally assists with service in Carrier Library. Emma holds a Bachelor of Music from JMU, having studied composition in the studios of Dr. Eric Guinivan & Dr. Jason Haney.  

An active composer, Emma has had music premiered by JMU’s Symphony Orchestra and Spring String Thing. Her piece, "Caldera" (2025) won JMU’s New Music for Orchestra Competition and was premiered by the Symphony Orchestra on April 26th, 2026. The following month, her piece "Soaring Shadows" (2026) premiered at the Spring String Thing, having been selected from the program’s 2nd annual call for scores.  Emma’s music has also been performed at Vienna’s Contemporary Composers Festival.
