A true consummate musician, Dominic Baldoni serves as an Adjunct Instructor at James Madison University where he teaches a variety of courses in both the General Music and Music Theory areas, ranging from Diatonic and Chromatic Harmony to Aural Skills and Fundamentals of Music (both undergraduate and secondary dual-enrollment). Via JMU, Dominic is also a Professor-In-Residence at Page County High School in Shenandoah, VA, where he assists students and staff with college informative and recruitment activities.

A native of rural Newville, PA, Dominic has also been a lifelong church musician. He currently serves as the Director of Music Ministries and Organist at Asbury United Methodist Church in Harrisonburg, VA, where he directs the Chancel Choir, Asbury Choral Scholars, and Handbell Choir in weekly rehearsals, Sunday services, and special events like the annual Christmas Cantata and Good Friday Masterwork performances with chamber orchestra. As a pianist, Dominic frequently accompanies both instrumental and vocal performances, partnering with public schools and private teachers for competitions, recitals, and local events. 

As a flutist, Dominic has been a prizewinner in both the National Flute Association and Flute Society of Washington Masterclass Competitions. Through these and other opportunities, he has performed in various masterclass recitals for world-renowned flutists such as Amy Porter, Carol Wincenc, Julien Beaudiment, Elizabeth Rowe, Jasmine Choi, Christopher Chaffee, and Amal Gochenour. Dominic has held principal, solo, and section positions in various ensembles in and out of academia including the Shenandoah Valley Bach Festival, North Texas Wind Symphony, UNT Symphony and Opera Orchestras, JMU Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony, Valley Wind Ensemble, and Messiah College Chamber Music Symposium. In 2012, he was given the opportunity to solo with the Lebanon Valley College Symphony Orchestra as a winner of the Concerto-Aria Competition. 

Presently, Dominic also serves as the Adjunct Instructor of Flute at Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, VA, and maintains his own private studio and masterclass teaching schedule. During his time in Denton, TX, he developed an active teaching role in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, frequently partnering with local public schools to hold masterclasses and teach weekly private lessons in preparation for University Interscholastic League competitions. 

Dominic earned his D.M.A in Flute Performance, Literature, and Pedagogy with Dr. Beth Chandler Cahill from JMU in 2025, researching the application of instrumental music in the American Protestant liturgical setting via his own compositions for flute and piano. Prior to moving to VA, he earned his Master of Music in Flute Performance and Sacred Music at the University of North Texas (2017) where he studied with Terri Sundberg and Rev. Dr. Charles Brown, and dual Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, in both Music (with honors and Flute and Music Theory concentrations) and Art history from Lebanon Valley College in PA where he studied with Robin Lilarose and Dr. Grant Taylor (2014). Other previous teachers include Dr. Jim Scott, Dr. Elizabeth McNutt, Mary Hannigan, and Sue Underkoffler.

Dominic lives in Harrisonburg with his wife and daughter, and enjoys all forms of cooking, baking, board games, and a double-shot, iced, white chocolate mocha from Sheetz.
