In JMU’s strategic plan, its Engagement goals’, Goal 7A states, 'The university will address community priorities by being deeply embedded in local, regional, and global communities through mutually beneficial and reciprocal partnerships to create student learning opportunities and align institutional practices.’ This talk will highlight one of JMU’s partnerships in the sub-Saharan Africa region. We will share where we have been, where we are, and what we hope to achieve with the partnerships across the continent.

11/06/2024 3:00p.m. On the Path: Update on the Activities of the Native American and Indigenous Working Group Academic Affairs: SIS Faculty, Staff & Students General DEI, Accessibility or Belonging Activity/Initiative,Task Force on Racial Equity Recommendation

The Native American and Indigenous Working Group, whose members are drawn from a variety of Colleges and Divisions, continues its efforts to identify JMU programs, curriculum, and resources that support Indigenous students, faculty, and staff. In addition, outreach to Virginia's Native Nations builds relationships and sets the groundwork for long-term collaborations. Join us for an update on this work and a discussion of new directions in Tribal consultation.
