JMU's Annual Sibs & Kids Day

Sibs & Kids Day is on April 20, 2024! This event provides an opportunity for JMU students to invite their 12 to 17-year-old sibling(s) to campus and show them what it’s like to be a Duke. Dining vouchers, a scavenger hunt, free t-shirts and a variety of activities are included in this awesome experience for future Dukes. Registration Deadline was April 3. The full schedule of optional activities is below.

Sibs & Kids Day Activity Options
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM

CHECK-IN (E-HALL) 
Pick up activity schedule, scavenger hunt info, campus map, t-shirts, dining vouchers, bookstore coupon and a JMU drawstring bag with goodies. Make sure to stop by the photobooth before heading to lunch! Guests may park in Ballard Parking Deck and C12 lots for the duration of the day.

11:00 - 1:30 PM
(until 8:00pm)

LUNCH (E-HALL) 
Enjoy lunch at E-Hall with the dining vouchers provided at check-in for Sibs & Kids Day participants. (JMU students will need to use a punch or dining dollars.)

CAMPUS SCAVENGER HUNT
Sibling groups compete to win the most points for a prize! Don’t forget to visit the JMU bookstore to use your coupon for JMU gear

UPB FIELD DAY (FESTIVAL LAWN)
Come out and enjoy field day activities and refreshments! UPB prefers that the JMU student RSVPs on BeInvolved App.

UNIVERSITY RECREATION CENTER (UREC) 
Explore UREC and utilize all it has to offer including the pool, track, racquetball, walleyball, basketball, and more. (Note: UREC available all day for Sibs & Kids Day participants accompanied by student.)

TEAM CHALLENGE ROPES COURSE (MEET SHUTTLE AT E-HALL)
Experience a fun teambuilding and open climb adventure on JMU’s high ropes course (ages 15 and over) accompanied by student. Note: Please attend pre-registered course only and at start time. Shuttle available at E-Hall front entrance 15 minutes prior to each session.

CLIMBING WALL (UREC)
Learn basic climbing techniques at UREC’s climbing wall. Must be accompanied by student.

FILIPINO AMERICANS AT MADISON (FAM) CULTURE SHOW (MEMORIAL HALL AUDITORIUM 4110)
Annual culture show for Filipino Americans at Madison. Performances include skit and cultural dances.

VISIT THE EDITH J. CARRIER ARBORETUM (780 UNIVERSITY BLVD)
The arboretum is a tree and wildflower preserve. Enjoy the StoryWalk or walking paths taking in the natural beauty around you! Local author, Ginny Neil, will speak about what happens after a wildefire. (at 11:00am)

4:30 - 8:00 PM

DINNER (D-HALL)
Enjoy dinner at D-Hall with the dining vouchers provided for participants. (JMU students will need to use a punch or dining dollars.)

EXIT 245 SPRING CONCERT (FESTIVAL GRAND BALLROOM)
