Computer information systems professionals analyze business opportunities and problems, then design and build solutions using the power of information technologies. Students in the CIS program gain the business and technical skills that will prepare them to move quickly from technical to leadership roles within an organization.

College of Business CIS graduates work for global service firms, IT consulting firms, hospitals, software companies, defense industry firms, telecommunications companies, web design firms, and in many other industries as well.

Career Fairs

You can begin building important job search skills by participating in career-oriented events within the department and college and taking advantage of the JMU career fair.

A career fair gives you the chance to network, practice interview skills and gain industry knowledge in a less stressful environment than a typical one-on-one. As a job or internship seeker, you’ll have the chance to ask questions, make connections and discuss your skills and professional goals with employers who are excited to meet potential applicants.

Meet the Firms

In recent years, over 50 firms and organizations interested in hiring accounting, CIS and finance majors attended the career fair in search of candidates like yourself.
