IA Student Ambassador

Class of 2028 (May)

Minor: Geography

Why did you become an ambassador?
I became an ambassador because I wanted to help students feel more comfortable navigating the IA program. As a transfer student who took a different path to JMU, I am passionate about supporting other transfer students and anyone else who may still be finding their place here. People who were willing to answer my questions and help me navigate the transition made a difference in my experience, and I want to be that person for other students.

What did you choose IA?
I chose Intelligence Analysis because I have always been interested in research, investigations, and understanding the world around me. I liked that IA combined so many of my interests while giving me the opportunity to explore different areas of intelligence and find what I am most passionate about.

What do you enjoy most about your program?
I love that the IA program gives us the opportunity to explore so many different aspects of intelligence while allowing us to shape the program around our own interests and goals. I also appreciate how close everyone is within the program. Because of its size, it feels like one big family where everyone is willing to support and help one another.

What is your favorite class or project?
Dr. Pili's Introduction to Geospatial Intelligence class!

What clubs, student organizations, or activities are you involved in?
Future Analyst Association, Women in Intelligence and National Security, Cyber Defense Club.

What is something you love to do outside of class?
Outside of class, I love going to concerts, playing the guitar, and lifting.

What advice would you give a prospective student?
Do not let your fears get in the way of your opportunities! Put yourself out there, get involved, and you may surprise yourself with what you're capable of.
