Class of: 2028 (May)
Hometown: Annandale, Virginia

About me: Hello! My name is Spencer, and I am a junior Computer Science major and Honors minor. I’m especially interested in all things software: engineering, design, and architecture. I am also a second-generation Duke, following my Mom’s footsteps!

Why I’m at JMU CS: I chose JMU CS mainly because of the department's incredibly welcoming atmosphere and JMU’s overall sense of community. Before deciding on JMU, I toured the CS department with a former CS Ambassador, and I was really impressed by how hands-on the classes were and how approachable and involved the professors are. Lastly, another major selling point was the AWESOME food JMU offers!

Clubs and interests: Outside of being a CS Ambassador, I am on the exec board and play for JMU Men’s Rugby Club. I also enjoy playing guitar, working out, listening to and creating music, cooking, eating good food, spending time outdoors, playing video games, and working on personal software projects.

Ask me about: JMU CS, student life, club sports, getting involved on campus, balancing CS with other interests, or anything else you’re curious about! (I can talk about my hobbies all day long)
