Class of 2027 (Dec)
Hometown: Dayton, VA

About me:  Hey there! My name is Sam, and I’m a junior Computer Science major and Honors minor. I’m most interested in AI/ML, computer vision, and cloud!  In my free time, I love working out, training BJJ, hiking, cooking, making espresso, and spending time with my friends/family, in addition to building and deploying software projects that push me to learn new technologies.

Why I’m at JMU CS: I chose JMU for a combination of factors, many of which I discovered during my visits as a prospective student. Through conversations with then-Ambassadors, I saw JMU's tight-knit, student-oriented focus. With smaller class sizes, peers and faculty who want to see you succeed, and a wonderful support network, I’m glad I made the choice I did, and I’ve loved my time here thus far.

Clubs and interests: Outside of my role as an Ambassador, I am the President of Madison Tech Society and active in Club Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Ask me about: Anything! I’d be happy to answer questions about CS, student life at JMU, or any of my hobbies
