About me: Hi! My name is Sam, and I’m a sophomore Computer Science major and Honors minor. I’m especially interested in cloud computing and AI/ML, which are also my main areas of research!  In my free time, I love working out, training BJJ, hiking, cooking, and spending time with my friends/family, in addition to building software projects that push me to learn new technologies.

Why I’m at JMU CS: I chose JMU because of a combination of factors, many of which I discovered from my visits as a prospective student. Through conversations with then-Ambassadors, I saw the tight-knit, student-oriented focus of JMU. With smaller class sizes, peers and faculty that want to see you succeed, and a wonderful support network, I’m glad I made the choice I did, and I’ve loved my time here thus far.

Clubs and interests: Outside of my role as an Ambassador, I’m active in Madison Honors Leadership Council, Madison Tech Society (where I serve as Recruitment Chair), and Club Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
